Of Dentures and Braces- Teeth Cleaning etc

I’ve been wearing braces since I was 24. Yes you guessed it right. I am much older now and I won’t tell you my age ;-) Well these frequent dentist visits made me realize the acute importance of Teeth Cleaning. I won’t go into boring medical details since I have been bored enough by my doctor for all these years but let me write here that the main enemy of our teeth is something called the plaque. Smiling Tooth What is Plaque? Plaque is a thin whitish layer that forms on the teeth after you eat something. This layer hardens itself if you do not brush your teeth regularly or properly. If sometimes any food particle is trapped beneath this hardened plaque it can bore down a hole into your teeth. When this hole reaches your gums, you get what is popularly advertised today as “teeth sensitivity”. Nope teeth sensitivity isn’t something that you can “cure” with toothpastes. It needs immediate treatment which is known as “root canal”. Root Canal Treatment A root canal procedure...

When we lose someone dear....

I found no better way to title my post. I am sure each one of us would have gone through the "process" (if I can call it that) of losing someone dear. It's painful and it hurts. Unfortunately, I have been through it thrice. Of course, every incident makes a new "me". But i have to mention it again it is painful.  I lost my dearest pet a few days back. Some may think, well what's the big deal in losing a pet? I agree. It's no big deal if you treat it as a pet. For us she was one amongst us. A family member. She had lived with us for fourteen long years and one day suddenly she is gone. I keep looking at her favorite spots desperately thinking, yes here she comes. Unfortunately for us and for her she had lost her eyesight. I would rather like to think that she was relieved from her suffering. But what about the void that she left? They say time is the best healer, but patience is something that I do not have......... All i can say is that may he...

Do you believe in the power of prayer?

hi everyone. here i am again writing on a random topic ( just crossed my mind). I can't say that i was born into a typical Indian household ( full of traditions, sometimes unwanted) i was allowed to do whatever i wanted ever since i was kid. That habit of mine is now, unfortunately, termed as laziness ( ya whatever). lol Anyways there is one thing that my mom always insists. Prayer. I am not an atheist. Nor am i a staunch believer of God. But i do pray. There's one friend of mine who keeps telling me to "pray" for her so that she gets the love of her life. Of course i do pray for her but i am not sure if just praying works. Imagine what would the world be like if God granted each and every prayer on earth! I can't stop laughing at this thought. Here is a topic to ponder. see ya soon Image by Pexels from Pixabay

Love...

I wrote this little story with a play in mind. Enjoy! Edit- Some of my posts are written in Hindi (Indian language). [Scene 1- Mr. Singh is seated at the dining table lost in deep thoughts. His daughter-in-law priya enters the room carrying dinner. ] Priya- Papaji please stop worrying about mummyji. Unka ilaaj toh karva rahe hai na hum log? Mr. Singh- Rehne de beta tu nahi samjhegi. You never will understand what I am going through right now. In fact no one will ever understand. Priya ( placing the dinner tray on the table) – Theek hai Papaji aapko nahi maanna naa sahi. Lekin kam se kam khaana toh kha lijiye. Warna aapke bete aake mujhe phirse sunayenge ki unke papa ka bilkul dhyan nahi rakhti. [Priya stamps her feet and leaves the room murmuring something to herself. Mr. Singh is still sitting there with lines of worry over his face and lost in deep thoughts.] [Scene 2- Mr. Singh’s son Deepak enters the room. He has just returned from office and is still hol...

The mystery.....

Craaaaaaasssssssssh……………… No dears this isn’t the sound of a car crashing. Actually Mr. Purohit ke haath me se chai ka cup gir gaya . Yeh ussi ki aawaz hai. Abhi unki biwi aayegi chillate hue “array ab kya toda aapne……… ajji sunte ho………” aur Mr. Purohit ka stereotyped jawab hoga “nahi behra ho gaya hu”. Every morning Mr. Purohit had the habit of sitting in the balcony and reading his favorite health column in the english newspaper. This morning as usual he was sipping his cup of masala chai when suddenly his eyes fell on the headlines…… “Accident on S. G. Highway……” Yeh padh ke uthe aur chai ka cup gir gaya. “Lata, apne daamadji ki gaadi ka numbe kya hai batana toh zara?” “kyu kya hua. Cup tootnne se gaadi ke number ka kya connection?. Raat ko beer weer chadha ke to nahi aaye na?” “ Apni bewajah ki bakwaas apne paas rakkho. Aur mujhe jaldi batao number kya hai.” “GJ 1BC 2655, ab toh batao kya hua?” “Just look. Paper me aaya hai. S.G Highway pe accident hua hai. Aur gaadi ka number bhi...
